Seeing Double: CSUSM to Celebrate Second Annual Homecoming with Double-Header Soccer Game and BBQ

Culminating the university’s second annual Homecoming Week, California State University San Marcos (CSUSM) invites students, alumni, and community supporters to cheer on the women’s and men’s soccer teams as the Cougars battle Embry Riddle at Mangrum Track and Field on Saturday, October 23.

Coinciding with the 20th anniversary of CSUSM, Saturday’s double-header soccer games and barbeque are among more than 20 scheduled events happening on campus during the university’s second annual Homecoming Week, hosted from Oct. 18-23.

Game day festivities will also include kid-friendly activities, face painting, halftime relay games and entertainment, giveaways, and a catered, tailgate barbeque sponsored. Attendees are encouraged to pre-register for the barbeque, which is free for Alumni Association Members and students, and $5 for all other guests. To register in advance, visit https://alumniweb.csusm.edu/events/event_reg.php?reg=ODE.

Assemblymember Block to Co-Sponsor FREE HOME Clinic to Provide Resources to San Diegans to Prevent Foreclosures

Assemblymember Marty Block will co-sponsor a free HOME Clinic to provide resources to San Diegans to help prevent additional foreclosures. The event offers constituents a one-stop shop of counseling resources and offers free loan modification assistance from a HUD approved housing counseling agency after your case has been reviewed; referral to local law enforcement or to local professional associations who may give resolution to your problems; and educational sessions on credit management, loan modification, bankruptcy and consumer protection.

This workshop is co-sponsored by the Housing Opportunities Collaborative, a coalition of nonprofit organizations and housing agencies in the San Diego region, and The Legal Aid Society of San Diego’s Pro Bono Program.

Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Bonita Library Community Room, 4375 Bonita Road, Bonita, CA
