Family Health Centers of San Diego Presents The 4th Annual ¡Vive tu Vida! Get Up! Get Moving! Event

    Saturday, September 25, 2010, the Family Health Centers of San Diego will present their 4th annual family celebration ¡Vive tu vida! Get Up! Get Moving! The event promotes Hispanic family physical activity for better health and wellness for people of all ages and all sizes. ¡Vive tu vida! Get Up! Get Moving! San Diego will be held from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at Chicano Park located between National and Logan Avenues in the Barrio Logan.

    This exciting event is expected to attract thousands and will feature FREE health screenings including dental, blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose, as well as a mobile unit for vision exams. Fun activities for the whole family include hula-hoop, trampoline jump, zumba/hip hop dance instruction, and practical tips to exercise while at home!  Sport activities will include tennis clinics from the U.S. Tennis Association and as a special feature, the U.S. Soccer Foundation will be offering its Passback program providing 200 youth with a soccer skills clinic and free soccer balls and other equipment.

    In addition to the FREE health screenings and activities, FREE sports bags with health giveaways will be available, while supplies last.  There will also be live music, FREE raffles, and much more!

    “Making movement a daily part of your life is one of the most important steps you can take for you and your family’s health,” said Jane L. Delgado, PhD, MS, President and CEO of the National Alliance for Hispanic Health.
