Free Tax Preparation Event for Oceanside Families
WHAT: This event will promote the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and ensure EITC-eligible families and individuals claim the important tax credit. An estimated 800,000 eligible Californians failed to claim EITC in 2009. Based on income and family size, EITC could boost a tax refund by up to $5,891.
WHEN: Saturday, February 16, 2013, 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
WHO: The event is part of a statewide tour sponsored by the Computer & Communications Industry Association (CCIA) and the Intuit Financial Freedom Foundation.

Free Tax Return Preparation—See If You Qualify
Do you need help preparing your tax return? Learn about the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) and Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) programs.
VITA Program: If you make $51,000 or less, IRS-certified volunteers can inform you about tax credits for which you may qualify, and prepare a basic tax return with electronic filing.
TCE Program: If you are 60 years of age or older, you may qualify for free tax help from IRS-certified volunteers who specialize in issues that pertain to seniors.
