MARCHA MIGRANTE VI Friendship Park/Playas de Tijuana to Calexico/Mexicali
(Feb 2-6) 2011 countdown update “Trail of Tears”

We will have a planning meeting tomorrow Saturday 11AM at Angels Haven in Lemon Grove.

As March Migrante VI approaches we will have activities on both sides of the border every day..on the Mexican Side there will be a walk from Playas to Mexicali with vigils along the way.

On the US side we will have activities every day, including but not limited to walk along the border:

Feb 2: Day 1 Noon press conference and vigil at Friendship Park/Playas Tijuana then visit day laborers
Feb 3: Day 2 (Visit to Casa Migrante in Tecate) will caravan to Tecate US side and the walk to Placita in Tecate, press conference and later visit Casa Migrante (documents needed to enter/exit Mexico) (need donations for Casa Migrante Tecate)
Feb 4: Day 3 (Caravan to Holtville Cemetery for sacred ceremony to pray for 700 unidentified migrants buried there; then head to desert to place water (Julieta Venegas in concert that evening)
Feb 5: Day 4 Ocotillo to outskirts of Calexico walk along the desert (20 miles) will have rest stops
Feb 6: Day 5 Walk into Calexico and then bi National Mass Imperial Valley, Ocotillo to Calexico/Mexicali border
