Members of the San Diego Girl Scouts joined Safeway’s Bright Green Clean Team on September 12 and spent a few hours at the Westfield Horton Plaza in an effort to help spruce up the popular mall.

The scouts used the BRIGHT GREEN all-purpose cleaner on railings, benches, trash receptacles, signage and other items that get a lot of traffic from the public.

“In our meetings we promote taking care of the earth as well as giving back to the community,” said Vickie Hanon, Girl Scout Leader, Troop 8432. “When the opportunity to participate in the BRIGHT GREEN Tour was presented to us, it was a great fit and a perfect way to put our words into action.”

The scouts were one of six other volunteer groups to participate in the BRIGHT GREEN Tour, and take part in a community service initiative to help create awareness on being environmentally friendly.
