Extended Services on New Year’s Eve Offers Safe Alternative to Driving for Revelers

San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) and Coca-Cola have partnered to provide extended bus and Trolley services on New Year’s Eve for downtown revelers. All three trolley routes will have two extra late night trips and four bus routes – 2, 7, 30 and 901 – will also have one additional trip leaving downtown after the close of eating and drinking establishments.

“We want to encourage everyone who celebrates the New Year in downtown San Diego to allow our bus and trolley operators to be their designated drivers,” said Paul Jablonski, chief executive officer of MTS. “A one-way fare is just $2.50, which is much less expensive than a DUI that will cost thousands, if not more. Our drivers are professional and courteous to keep you safe. And our expanded services gives you have plenty of time to ring in the New Year.”
