NATIONAL CITY- On Friday, April 9, 2010, Operation Samahan and the Sweetwater Union High School District (SUHSD) commemorated the opening of the Operation Samahan Community Health Center at Granger Junior High School in a ribbon cutting ceremony. The community health center will provide accessible, quality healthcare and education to the uninsured and medically underserved families of the South Bay.

“The unique location and partnership with the School District offers students and their families a safe and familiar environment for health care,” said Operation Samahan CEO Joel San Juan. “It is our hope that this will encourage regular clinic visits and maintain a healthy community.”

The former Granger Junior High library was modernized and received over $165,000 in upgrades to build the health center. The health center is part of the Operation Samahan community health agency that serves patients throughout San Diego County.

The Operation Samahan Community Health Center at Granger Junior High School will be the third health center located on a school campus in the South Bay community. The other two health centers are located within the District at Palomar High School and Southwest High School.
