Parents from each school thanked for their service

Parent Recognition: Honorees at the Sweetwater District Parent Recognition event.

Parent involvement is critical to the success of any school. On any given day in schools across the Sweetwater District, parents are volunteering their time and efforts in support of their children’s educational experiences. At a recent ceremony, these parents were recognized by Sweetwater District and school leaders.

Each school in the district has several parent volunteers who perform a number of duties including serving on planning committees, working at school events and assisting in outreach to the community. School administrators work closely with parents to ensure that the most critical needs are being met.

“Parent volunteers serve as a critical bridge between the schools and the community,” said Board President Pearl Quiñones. “It’s important for us to take time to recognize their work and let them know that their contributions are key to our success.”
